We offer GROW Groups Youth & Adults at Pearl. Listed below are all groups that are currently meeting. Most groups meet on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:00pm at the church, but some are offered outside of our regular Sunday GROWGroup time in homes. See below for details.
Read the descriptions below for each group, and select which one you plan to attend in our Fall semester, beginning August 30. (NOTE: Room assignments will be based on enrollment for each class.
The following groups meet on SUNDAYS @5:30PM AT PEARL:
THEY WALKED WITH GOD: 40 Bible Characters Who Inspire Us; (Co-ed Adults; led by Lisa Armstrong)
“They Walked with God" by Max Lucado explores the lives of 40 Old and New Testament
inspirational characters from the Bible, highlighting their faith and lessons that can be applied
to everyday life. This study encourages readers to deepen their relationship with God and
understand their own place in His plan, showing God can use anyone, regardless of their
status or significance, to fulfill His purposes.
SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES FOR THE CHRISTIAN LIFE; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Scott Myers)
We aren’t meant to wait for holiness―we’re meant to pursue it. God commands Christians to actively “be
holy,” but what does that look like in daily life? Rather than overwhelming legalism or loose boundaries,
Don Whitney encourages us to find a practical middle ground through biblical habits.
BIBLE STORIES FOR ADULTS; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Kyle Chappuis)
Maybe you’ve heard and possibly studied the many stories of the Bible. Maybe your were saved later in
life and have never heard any of them. Either way you most likely haven’t heard the deeper and richer
truths of those stories. There’s a ton to unpack in each of the stories of the Bible. Gain appreciation of the
Bible and our amazing God in particular while learning how to dig deeper into the Bible. This Grow Group
utilizes the Bible and weekly handouts in preparation for each week’s study.
FOUNDATIONS COURSE: Back to the Basics; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Kevin Pitts)
Each lesson in this Bible study guide is simple enough for a new believer, and yet, the more
mature Christians will also be able to add to their knowledge of the Word of God as well. It has
been designed to teach not only the “why’s”, but also the “how to’s.”
WOMEN OF THE BIBLE / I WANT TO TRUST YOU, BUT I DON'T; (Adult Ladies; Led by Donna Jonas & Renee Smith)
A powerful combination of in-depth Bible study and real-life application. This study group will begin with a
continued study of women of the Bible and then transition into a study based on the book “I Want to Trust
You, but I Don't”. The study invites you on a journey of developing the stability you long for within yourself
and with God, so you don't become cynical and carry a broken belief system into every new relationship.
YOUNG COUPLES GROWING IN THE BIBLE TOGETHER; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Micah and Mary Severino)
This group will allow young couples to learn and study the Bible together and fellowship with other couples in the same stage of life. Group is for young dating or married couples. The study topics will vary week to week and be driven by where God leads the group.
HOW TO LIVE A POWERFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE- The Book of ACTS; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Pastor Hugh)
The Christian life is a POWERFUL life, and there's no better testimony of the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers than The Book of Acts. Discover how God empowered the Apostle Paul and Church to literally change the world. Join Pastor Hugh in this verse-by-verse study and start living a POWERFUL LIFE for Jesus.
FIT CHURCH; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Angela Goodson)
Whether you desire to serve those under your leadership better or to learn a Christ-centered approach to self-care, FIT Church will open your eyes to transformational truths that will help you to accomplish that. This book offers proven solutions for addressing your personal health practices and overcoming years of struggle with food, exercise, and mindset using the concept of faith-inspired training (FIT).
GROW IN GOD; (NextGEN Young Adults, ages 18-25; Led by Sean & Sylvia Alexander)
God’s Word has the answers for all! Come grow with us and let Him make his paths known to you! Studies focus on Biblical manhood and womanhood for Young Adults. Learn how to become the Godly men and women God wants us to be.
MAN UP; (Young Men ages 12-20; Led by Chad Beaty)
This class will equip young men with basic skills for everyday life as they learn to become a man of God. (Skills include knot tying, lighting a fire, etc.)
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS (Students 12 yrs old/Grades 6-8; Led by Jason Carroll)
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (Students in grades 9-12; Led by Jason Carroll)

A SHEPHERD LOOKS AT PSALM 23: Discovering God's Love for You; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Andy Lubrano)- MEETS ON MONDAYS @2:00PM at home of Andy & Evie Lubrano, 4454 Mountain Creek Rd, Iron Station
Travel the Shepherd's path to the green pastures and cool, refreshing waters of Psalm 23. As a shepherd himself, W. Phillip Keller shares his insights into the life and character of sheep--and of the Good Shepherd who loves and cares for them.
The Book of EPHESIANS; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Pastor Hugh Whitfield)- MEETS ON THURSDAYS @9:30AM at home of Jim & Susan Cady, 3740 Orchard Rd, Iron Station
As a follower of Jesus you need to know what to BELIEVE and how to BEHAVE, and Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is loaded to bear with truths that are guaranteed to make you a wonderful worshiper and worker for Jesus. Join Pastor Hugh each Thursday, 9:30am, and discover the blessings of being “in Christ” (Paul’s favorite words in Ephesians).

Explore the Bible - ROMANS; (Co-ed Adults; Led by Norma Prince & Pastor Hugh Whitfield)
We live in a world defined by sound bites and social media posts. While brevity can be a good thing, our obsession with what’s temporary also runs the risk of trading genuine substance for empty cliches. In his letter to the Christians at Rome, Paul rejected flimsy theology. His systematic and logical explanation of the gospel left no doubt about the world’s need for a Savior and our responsibility as Christ followers. By studying his words to the Romans, we can gain a better understanding of who God is, what God does, and the impact it should have on our lives each day.
